AutoCAD and MAP 2000 Support in GIS\Key™ V3.0

With release of AutoCAD and MAP 2000, we hare received many questions about compatibility of GIS\Key™ v2.3 and 3.0. The answers follow:

AutoCAD & MAP 2000 API and language support has changed, particularly in the case of Arx, the, language used by several important GIS\Key™ routines, particularly contouring/surfacing.

There is also much more extensive implementation of ActiveX, which we use to pass data between modules and start subroutines in GIS\Key™.

The language and API changes required extensive reprogramming within GIS\Key’s™ graphic interface, which will improve performance and ease of use. Version 3.x will support all of these new features and in addition will support multiple open maps and drawings by v3.1. Also coming soon: ArcView shapefile exports.

Version 2.3 will not support these new features or Y2K, so update your system soon to v3.0.
