Hydrology Database The GIS\Key™ Hydrology Module stores the following hydrology data:
Hydrology Graphics and Work Products The GIS\Key™ Hydrology Module includes many ways to present your data including:
Hydrology Potentiometric Surface Maps Water level maps (potentiometric surfaces) aid environmental scientists in the determination of ground water flow. Surface water data may also be examined. Contour control points and break lines can be used to increase accuracy and enhance user interpretation. GIS\Key™ also calculates and posts gradients automatically. Many rounds of data are mapped, quickly and efficiently. This can help the understanding of the site's hydrology and contaminant migration. Floating/Sinking Product Thickness, Horizontal conductivity, specific storage and specific yield can also be mapped automatically. Below is an example of a ground water potentiometric surface map with a hydraulic gradient vector created, calculated and posted on the site map using GIS\Key™. Contour control points may be added as desired. . In a similar manner, Scout queries can output fluid level or flow data as line graphs, or combine flow data with chemistry to produce flux or cumulative flux graphs. The latter is an excellent example of how GIS\Key's integration enables cross-subject area queries and visualization.
Hydrologic Data Summary Tables Summary tables of hydrologic data contained in the project can be easily and quickly created within GIS\Key™. Standard tables can be previewed on-screen or printed using the report template provided with GIS\Key™. Users can also create their own templates. Reports can be also be exported in over 30 standard formats, including Microsoft Office, HTML and several database formats, which are easily read by the appropriate 3rd party software. The following table was created with the standard Scout SmartQuery tools and is shown in preview mode. The standard tables printed directly from GIS\Key™ like the preview.
